Merchant Spotlight
Every week we put a face to the products you love. This week, we're shining the light on a merchant making waves from Nigeria's commercial capital.

Austarich

📍 Lagos, Nigeria
Austarich is a Lagos-based organic products merchant bringing the richness of Nigerian agriculture to the global marketplace. Operating through the Kuueza platform, Austarich connects buyers across continents with authentic, high-quality African organic goods — rooted in a deep commitment to quality, sustainability, and the best that Nigeria has to offer.

Lagos is one of Africa's most dynamic commercial hubs — and Austarich is proof that the city's entrepreneurial energy extends well beyond its borders. By listing on Kuueza, Austarich gains access to a verified global buyer network, putting Nigerian organic products exactly where they deserve to be: on the world stage. We're proud to have them in the Kuueza family.

Did You Know?
A quick fact about African trade that might surprise you this week.
01
Trade Fact
Africa produces over 70% of the world's shea butter supply.
West African countries — particularly Ghana, Nigeria, and Burkina Faso — dominate global shea production, yet most of the value is captured outside the continent. Platforms like Kuueza are working to change that narrative by connecting producers directly with international buyers.
02
Market Insight
The global organic food market is projected to exceed $500 billion by 2030.
Africa sits at the heart of this growth opportunity. With some of the world's largest reserves of arable organic farmland and a rising demand for clean, traceable ingredients, the continent is uniquely positioned to lead — not just supply.

Trend Watch
Three movements shaping African organic trade this quarter.
01
The Rise of B2B Ingredient Sourcing
Global cosmetics brands are bypassing brokers and sourcing shea, baobab, and marula oil directly from African suppliers. Platforms like Kuueza are becoming the bridge that makes that possible at scale.
02
Organic Certification as a Growth Tool
Merchants with USDA or EU organic certification are seeing 2–3x higher inquiry rates on the platform. We're exploring ways to make certification more accessible for smaller vendors.
03
Diaspora Buyers Driving Demand
African diaspora communities in the UK, US, and Canada are increasingly buying bulk — not just for personal use, but to resell locally. A new buyer segment worth watching.

Merchant Tip
One actionable insight every merchant can use this week.
"Your product photos are your first handshake with a buyer you've never met."
In B2B e-commerce, buyers make split-second decisions about trust — and your product imagery is the first thing they judge. Audit your storefront photos this week. Are they well-lit? Multiple angles? Studies show listings with 4+ quality images receive up to 60% more inquiries. You've built a great product — make sure your storefront tells that story.

AGOA Update
What the latest developments in U.S.-Africa trade policy mean for Kuueza merchants.
Breaking Policy News
AGOA Is Back — But Only Just.
After lapsing in September 2025, the African Growth and Opportunity Act was signed back into law by President Trump on February 3, 2026 — but with a critical caveat. The extension runs only through December 31, 2026 — the shortest in the programme's 25-year history. For African exporters, this means duty-free access to over 1,800 U.S. product categories is restored, but the long-term picture remains uncertain.

The short extension is being described by analysts as an "uncertainty tax" on African exporters. Bipartisan efforts in the U.S. Congress are pushing for a longer renewal beyond 2026, with the House having already passed a three-year extension bill. The Senate's position remains a key factor to watch. For Kuueza merchants exporting to the U.S. — this window is open. Use it wisely.

Africa's Organic Cocoa Exports Drop 23% as EU Regulations Tighten
Africa exported over 22,000 tons of organic cocoa in 2024, holding a 53% share of global organic cocoa exports — but volumes fell sharply as new EU organic regulations now require African exporters to meet the same standards as EU producers. A wake-up call for merchants eyeing the European market.
